MESSAGE FROM THE COORDINATOR
Hello and welcome to the 2018 College 4 Kids program! Whether it is your first time with us or you are returning to us for another summer, we are thrilled and grateful that you have chosen us for your child’s summer enrichment needs.
We are excited to announce some changes to this year’s program and new course offerings. For the first time ever, we will be offering a-la-carte course selection! This unique alternative to enrollment allows you the opportunity to select individual classes that will best serve your student’s needs. Register for one, two, three, or four classes…the choice is up to you! For those of you who were with us in previous summers, this means will be moving from a mandatory three-period schedule with an after-school option to a flexible four-period schedule.
Cool experiences return this year in Living History where students will engage in immersive projects and reenactments based on historical periods in world or U.S. history. Meteorology will teach students about weather and forecasting and students in Writing the News will learn about traditional journalism, writing news stories and critical thinking. Healthy Kids is a wonderful new class designed to help kids learn about healthy lifestyles including nutrition, fitness and managing stress.
The new Multimedia, Digital Comics are popular favorites that have been refreshed with new curriculum where students can learn about video game animation and filmmaking. Not an actor but still interested in the performing arts? Our new Drama classes offer a choice for students to fine tune their acting chops OR get involved with other aspects of the production.
Meanwhile, our traditional math, creative writing, art, sports and swimming classes still provide an excellent foundation of our program for your student to practice old skills and learn new ones.
Here at College 4 Kids, we pride ourselves on the strength of our program and the vast array of different opportunities we offer. Our dedicated staff bring many years of expertise and a passion for the students we serve, in a fun and engaging environment. As a former teacher for eight summers here myself, I know you will find that College 4 Kids is the best summer enrichment program in the Bay Area. We’re looking forward to seeing you!
Sincerely and in gratitude,
